After Worlds in 2017, Max struggled with an injury and after lots of rehabilitation, physio work and determination to keep his fitness levels up out of the pool; he decided to withdraw from Commonwealth Games in Australia 2018. His focus in the months throughout Commonwealths and to the end of the season, will remain stable and Max will always be determined to make Europeans at the end of the year with no shoulder problems.
